Single crochet, hall double crochet and double crochet. Only uses 1 stitch at a time. Flat pieces with simple crochet edging.

Easy

Confident with beginner kits and ready to move on. Or knitted a few things in the past and wants to try it again.

Moss stitch and rib stitch with no shaping. Stocking stitch and garter stitch with basic increases and decreases Cable cast on or long tail cast on. Picking up stitches, additional techniques, finer stripes and more colour changes. Casting on and off during knitting for shaping including necklines. Slipped stitches. Introducing multiple needles sizes. Working with 2 ends of yarn at once.

Confident with beginner kits and ready to move on. Or crocheted a few things in the past and wants to try it again.

Treble crochet. Introduce working in the round and working in to both sides of the foundation chain. Uses a couple different stitch techniques and colour changes. Some simple increasing and decreasing within a basic stitch. Simple pieces with decorative crochet joins.

Intermediate

Confident with easy kits or experienced knitters that haven't followed a TKK pattern before. Gentle introduction in using multiple knitting techniques at the same time.

Moss and rib with shaping. Textured stitch patterns with minimal shaping. Left and right leaning knit and purl decreases. Knitting in the round on circular needles or double pointed needles. Simple cable knits. Simple intarsia with a basic pattern and minimal shaping, simple colour work patterns. May include Simple charts and basic knit abbreviations.

Confident with easy kits or experienced crocheters that haven't followed a TKK pattern before. Gentle introduction into using multiple crochet techniques at the a time.

Working a flat circle. Multiple stitches used. Different types of increases and decreases. Mere complex crochet joins. May include simple Crochet abbreviations.

Advanced

Confident knitter who is experienced with using multiple techniques at the same time.

Textured stitches with shaping. Left and right leaning knit and purl double decreases. Complex construction. Multiple stitch patterns. Complex cables, advanced colour work and intarsia. May include advanced charts and knit abbreviations.
